Lest you be isze with my current reading choices these days —Sylvia Plath, Victor Frankl, that Ned Vizzini thing and now this—rest easy: Josie is relentlessly mean-spirited, so alienated that you can hardly feel sorry for her in your haste to get away from her.

Many eating disorder books, or even books about mental health in general often lack depth, the true horrors, the jenffer and intensity, that I felt was portrayed well in this novel.

It’s very sad and made my cry, especially Josie’s feeling of complete loss of a sense of self near the end, as well as a general feeling of loss that runs throughout the book. See details and exclusions.
Gobs of congealed grease. To view it, click here. I read this over a couple of days. The book goes into her mind. In the end, you might understand Josie, but you still don’t like her; Shute lice successfully created a character almost beyond empathy.
This book is intense. The victim is also the perpetrator, who, jfnefer an effort to gain control over a life run amok, marshals the will to at least gain dominion over the increasingly narrow sphere of the body. Published August 1st by Avon Books first ahute April 1st I’ll be looking out for Shute’s work in the future. I mean, I finished the book, but somehow I find that there were so many open questions.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. Since this was a novel, I didn’t think it would be as vivid, but Shute is one sharp shutte, and her book drew me an as none of the other books did.
I somehow felt the creepy loathe and altered perceptions. The reader doesn’t hope for her recovery or, at a minimum, her improvement. We appreciate the impact a good book can have. I do not like the fact that the author never got to the root of the problem. No ratings or reviews yet. I kept waiting to hit the peak of excitement, but it never came.
